The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years, Yet their boast is only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away. So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom – (Psalms 90:10, 12 NKJV)
Time is short and we need to use it well. The early days of man averaged hundreds of years, Methuselah lived for 969 years. Later, after flood in Noah’s time God shortened man’s time to 120 years.
Here in Psalm 90, man’s time is shortened to 70 or 80 years. Later James 4:13-16 records man’s life is a vapor, with no guarantee as to the number of years.
Therefore it is very critical and imperative that people allow God to teach to them to manage well the brief time they have on this earth.
Victor Hugs said, ” shorter as life is, we make it still shorter by the careless waste of time.”
Beloved, a life live for God will count for eternity. Think.. Think
