Holding on to your visions (Lessons from the life of Joseph)

–      Ps 105:19

Joseph’s childhood dreams of promotion stood the test of time.

If we read the story of Joseph (Genesis 37 to Genesis 47), we see that Joseph revealed his dreams to his brothers, who were wicked and were jealous of him.

Joseph’s dream did not come to fulfillment until the Word of God had tested him. Joseph then went through years of character development, through trials which proved his integrity. Throughout all this, he did not lose sight of the dream God gave him.

“Similarly we should not lose sight of the dreams God gives us.”

Though Joseph went through times of adversity, he showed steadfastness and loyalty in all his relationships. He always looked beyond the present and cherished the dreams in his heart. All his dreams definitely came to pass.

Similarly we ought to hold on to God given visions. We should not drift away from it. Because the vision is for an appointed time.

‘For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come’

– Habakkuk 2:3
