Death of a Loved One

Graveyard

When a loved one dies, we are shattered beyond words.  More so, when it is someone we have known and lived our entire lives with. This was true when my grandparents died within a period of three months of each other. They loved me dearly and I cannot imagine life without them.

As I sat next to the body, spending the last few hours with my loved one, there was one Hope, or rather one Promise.

‘For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. ‘

I Thessalonians 4: 14

This is the greatest hope given to the grieving person, that those who believe and are dead in Christ will be raised again when He comes.

Those present with them in their last few minutes on earth witnessed two things:-

1. The way they distanced themselves from all earthly relationships.

2. Their joy when they saw the Lord in Glory as they breathed their last.

I am truly happy that we have been blessed with the eternal life in Christ.

For a Child of God, ‘Death of a loved one’ is just a step closer towards their eternal and blissful life with our Lord Jesus.
